Now that you have learned about evidence based practice, PICO/PEO, levels of evidence, and systematic reviews, you can combine these ideas to start searching for health science resources. PICO or PEO can be used to create keywords to search in library databases (subject specific collections of academic resources) that are health science specific. Many of these databases have filters and options to narrow down by levels of evidence, clinical queries, date ranges, population type, and more. Some great health science library databases to search in first are:
Here is an interative tutorial on connecting PICO, searching, and PubMed in detail. Here is a video on this as well:

PubMed also includes a clinical queries feature, as well as MeSH (medical subject headings) that can help you in more advanced searching.
Remember that your UNCG Libraries liaison can help with all things to do with research, including searching on health science topics and connecting your research to evidence based practice. You can also chat with the library through our virtual chat services.
