Beaufort Inlet

Beaufort Inlet was once known as Topsail Inlet. In that time, Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet had teamed up, but Blackbeard was ready to cut him loose. He sent Bonnet ashore to check on their pardons. While he was gone, Blackbeard stole all the valuable cargo, marooned Bonnet's men and their ship on a sandbar, and sailed away.
