Battery Park Hotel

This historic hotel—which hosted well-known guests like Babe Ruth, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Grace Kelly, Thomas Wolfe, and O. Henry—was converted to apartments, but its residents still whisper about lingering spirits, including a woman murdered in 1936 and the man who may have been wrongly executed for the crime.

The hotel's first iteration, built in 1886, was demolished and rebuilt in 1924.
