Greensboro Historical Museum

The Greensboro Historical Museum, established in 1924 and opened in 1925, contains rich and diverse holdings on a variety of subjects related to Greensboro, Guilford County, and beyond. Among these are several noteworthy O. Henry Collections. The main O. Henry Collection contains approximately 2,500 items including first editions, correspondence, radio dramalogues, printed materials, financial and legal documents, sketches and drawings, photographs, magazines, paintings, and literary productions. Smaller collections donated by O. Henry aficionados, collectors, and relatives contain notable secondary sources and include unique items such as engravings, personal letters, obituaries, photographs, and newspaper clippings. Access to these collections is open.
