O. Henry Hotel

The O. Henry Hotel was built in the late 1990s, two miles from the original location. The current hotel is modeled after many aspects and features of the original hotel and emphasizes local materials and landmarks in its design. The 1998 portrait of William Sydney Porter by Frank P. Holton III was commissioned for the hotel’s opening and hangs in the main lobby. O. Henry's most famous story, "The Gift of the Magi," elegantly adorns the upper portion of the lobby’s walls. Tea time at the O. Henry Hotel has become a popular Greensboro tradition.
