Statue of Mohandas K. Gandhi

At the corner of E. Trade and S. Alexander Streets stands a burnished statue of Gandhi on his "salt march" to protest British taxation of India. The Charlotte Asian Heritage Association raised the money for this statue, which was unveiled in 2008 and can frequently be seen garlanded with flowers.
