First National Bank (now SunTrust) Building

In 1929, when this building opened, W. J. Cash, who was then associate editor of the Charlotte News, said that Charlotte had as much need for a skyscraper "as a hog has for a morning coat." Look in the archway for some sculpted figures, including Confucius.
