This award is given to encourage the writing and publication of the history of a North Carolina county, institution or individual: Well-crafted, in-depth studies and histories of NC families; . This category is open to all who are writing about NC. The writer need not be a resident of the State of NC. Significant works of fiction based upon actual historical events, places and/or individuals in NC history. In-depth historical accounts of the founding, growth and development of religious movements, houses of worship, or religious institutions within NC. Submissions must be in book form. Writer need not be a resident of the State of NC.
