Grey Literature

Things to Look Out for with Grey Literature

Grey literature is often not peer reviewed because it is not controlled by commercial publishers. This does not necessarily mean the information is inaccurate, but you should be cautious and evaluate any material or sources that you come across.

Because they are not saved or indexed in traditional databases, these works may not have the same longevity as traditionally published material. You also may not be able to reproduce search results in a consistent manner like you could in commercial databases. Due to this, you should save any material you find as it may be difficult to find again.
