Popular and Scholarly Sources

What About Wikipedia?

Where does Wikipedia come in to this conversation? Wikipedia would be classified as a popular source. However, it is not recommended that you cite Wikipedia as a source for any course assignments, even if you’re told that popular sources are okay. This is because some Wikipedia pages can be edited by anyone with a Wikipedia account. Wikipedia has developed some protections around this problem in the past few years, but unfortunately it’s still not good enough to use as a cited source in a college setting.
