UNCG Libraries support OER in many ways. We have an OER research guide which links out to information for educators, students, repositories, resources by subject, and information about Creative Commons licenses (making your own materials open).

UNCG Libraries also offers yearly grants of $1000 stipends to UNCG instructors to eliminate a textbook in your course using OER or library materials. These grant applications are always due in early Spring, but if you miss the deadline you can still contact your UNCG liaison librarian to see how you can get started with OER in your course. UNCG Libraries has a student success librarian who works with student administrative offices and creates pop up events for students to advocate for and learn more about OER.

Do you want to get involved in a national community about open educational resources? There are many academic listservs, conferences, workshops, and grants available. There are also new innovations in OER happening all the time, so be sure to check these useful OER websites about professional development and news:
