There are so many options for finding news about current events and topics that interest you, but UNCG Libraries recommends a few specific resources to help find trusted coverage.

Searching across multiple news sources at once:

  • Google News: you can check out their topic pages, browse recent news, look at more local news, and set up news alerts
  • Newspaper Source Plus: this is a subscription service through the library that requires you to log in with your UNCG username and password; according to their description, this database "Offers cover-to-cover full-text for 149 national and international newspapers, including the New York Times, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Washington Post, The Times (London), Toronto Star, and Irish Times. Also provides selective full-text for over 400 U.S regional newspapers, and full-text television and radio news transcripts.
  • All Sides: this website aggregates news stories on current events and shows you how they are being reported by news outlets that have different political perspectives; be aware that something labeled as "From the Center" is not the same as something neutral or unbiased - Center here refers to a specific political perspective that is neither left-leaning or right-leaning.
